Snow & church

There’s this nice old church, basically right across the street from my office. I’ve photographed it before, but it’s tricky, because most angles you end up with either office buildings in the background, or cars and traffic lights in the foreground. Or you can go for a really weird low, wide angle, or do detail shots, but neither of them really show the church well.

Then I was out yesterday, taking pictures in the snow, and wandered into the church’s courtyard, where I’ve never actually gone before, and got this. It’s really a picture of the statue, not the church, but I like how I could use the church as a backdrop to hide the urban surroundings.
